New Delhi – June 28, 2025:
The NEET 2025 paper leak has exploded into a national controversy, shaking the very foundation of India’s competitive exam system. Allegations of question paper leaks just hours before the exam have led to widespread protests, political backlash, and growing pressure on the National Testing Agency (NTA) to either cancel the exam or conduct a retest.

???? What Happened?

On May 5, 2025, over 24 lakh students appeared for the NEET-UG exam. But within hours of the test, images of alleged NEET question papers surfaced on Telegram and WhatsApp, with claims that the leak had originated from a center in Bihar.

Soon, the police in Patna arrested several suspects, including coaching center staff and students. The authorities confirmed that at least one set of original questions was indeed leaked.

???? What Students Are Saying

Thousands of aspirants across Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and other cities have taken to the streets chanting:

“Humara haq chheen liya gaya hai!”
“Re-NEET chahiye!”

Social media has erupted with hashtags like #ReNEET, #JusticeForNEETAspirants, and #NTAFail. Many students claim that their future has been compromised, and a fair chance was stolen from them.

????️ Government & NTA Response

Initially, the NTA downplayed the issue, calling it a “local incident.” But after national media and opposition parties amplified the story, the Education Ministry had to step in.

By June 27, the Ministry announced:

  • An internal review of NEET-UG 2025 by a high-level committee

  • Action against any centers or officials found guilty

  • Considering re-examination only for affected centers (though many demand a nationwide retest)

⚠️ Why This Is a Big Deal

NEET is the gateway for lakhs of students to get admission into MBBS, BDS, and other medical courses. Even a small error can ruin years of preparation.

This isn't the first time such leaks have happened. Students and experts now question whether a centralized, high-stakes exam system like NEET can be trusted without massive reform.

???? Political & Legal Developments

  • Multiple PILs (Public Interest Litigations) have been filed in High Courts and the Supreme Court.

  • Opposition leaders are slamming the government over “systemic corruption” in the education sector.

  • Protests outside the Ministry of Education and NTA offices continue to grow.

???? What’s Next?

  • The Supreme Court may hear urgent pleas from students demanding re-exam.

  • More arrests and investigation details are expected.

  • The final decision — whether NEET 2025 will be cancelled for all — is still pending.
